11.15.1991 Around this date, a small group of The Lion King production team takes a research trip for two weeks to Africa in order to explore the country and the animals for the movie.
04.01.1992 In April, in addition to Roger Allers, Rob Minkoff joined the team.
10.01.1992 In October, the Director Roger Allers joined the team of TLK.
06.15.1994 The Lion King has its world premiere in the Radio City Music Hall in New York. Further the movie starts in another cinema.
06.24.1994 The official Lion King US cinema release. The movie has a box office performance at its first weekend about 40 Millionen USD.
07.13.1994 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack from The Lion King is released in the USA.
11.17.1994 The German cinema release. About 11 Millionen people watch the movie in that days.
11.18.1994 Re-release of The Lion King in USA's cinema.
12.08.1994 The Lion King Game for SNES, Sega Genesis, NES, DOS and some other platforms is released in North American and other PAL regions like Germany.

01.25.1995 In the Harvest Theatre in Walt Disney World Florida the "Circle of Life: An Environmental Fable" starts. A 70mm Film that shows in 12 minutes Timon, Pumbaa and Simba, who teach them something about conservation.

03.03.1995 The Lion King is released on VHS in the USA.
